My Calendar

Final Project!

My Roll by Hannah Blanchard

My Roll Hannah Blanchard Throughout the process of my group’s project, I assumed a few different roles. In the beginning, I worked along with Emma to brainstorm awesome ideas for our project. Once deciding to create a painting with quotes from three books on Mr. Keene’s wall, we then began to divide and conquer! On Wednesday, April 25th I recorded Emma interviewing Mr. Keene to find out the quotes from The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Apocalypse Now/ Heart of Darkness and Hamlet that Mr. Keene favored the most. While Emma and Darien were researching art work that would complement our quotes, I designed the boards’ layout. After deciding on a border for our board, together our team made stencils of our own hands. While Emma wrote out Mr. Keene’s favorite quotes, Darien and I began tracing the hands, and eventually began painting them red, white or grey. After finishing painting the hands, I began to paint the quotes white. Nearing the end of our project, Darien and I are putting the finishing touches on the hands and the letters, while cheering on Emma as she continues to paint beautiful illustrations to accompany Mr. Keene’s favorite quotes! For the illustrations, we decided to have a scared face for The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde quote, heads on a stick for the Apocalypse Now/ Heart of Darkness quote, and a candle being blown out for our Hamlet quote. Throughout the project I, along with my teammates, photographed our project in all its stages. Our group finished our project on May 29th, only after completing the painting of the words and illustrations… and blogging of course!
